Callan

There’s a part of me that wants to tell my Sunshine everything: the good, the ugly, and everything in between. I have never wanted to tell anyone about anything of consequence. I have never told anyone but my brothers the real story. What is it about her that makes me want to build that relationship? What the fuck is wrong with me? This woman is turning me into a babbling little bitch. I wanted to go into this and just hang out, fuck, and keep it pushing. Why the fuck am I even considering talking about my life?

“How much time you got?” I try to lighten the mood, and making jokes is often my defense mechanism for avoiding emotions. Yes, I have Googled all this. I know I have some deep-rooted, fucked up trauma issues.

When I feel the need, I dive deep into my problems but it does nothing for me but create more problems. The only thing that helps is knowing that if my mother were to ever come back to this area, there would be no Meth available for her to buy. That gives me peace of mind.

“I have all the time in the world if it means getting to know the real you, Callan.” Her words come out so soft, barely a whisper. The way she says my name gives me goosebumps. I decide to fuck it all and I want to tell her just a little about me. In my world, information makes you vulnerable. Secrets equate to power. At the end of the day, I am a biker, an outlaw. There ain’t no room for emotions in this game but she is a breath of fresh air after I’ve been underwater too long.

“My mom has always struggled with addiction. She has been on and off of meth since before I was born. My dad tried for a long time to get her help, paid for the best treatments, but it has always had her in its vice grip. That’s a big reason why we try so hard to clean up the meth problem in the Inland Empire. There are several family members of the Club that are victims of addictions. Then when my mom didn’t get better, my dad took it out on me.” I inhale deeply. This is the tightrope that I walk, do I tell her everything or nothing at all? I’ll give her a bit more off the iceberg that is my fucked up soul.

“When she was pregnant with me, she managed to stay clean and my parents were good for a long time. My dad was a tough son of a bitch, but he loved my mom more than anything on this Earth, even the club came second to my mom, which if you know about MCs, the club is always supposed to come first. When I was three, my mom was back on the junk and she became pregnant with my brother, Declan. She couldn’t stop, not even for her kid.
